It’s coming up one year since Platter Co. began, so let’s start this journal off with some details of the why & how this all came to be.

A beautiful friend Fifi was turning 40. Another amazing friend Lou (Founder of One Day PA) was in charge of getting her shindig sorted. Lou and Jade had worked together on events in the past, and once we saw the incredible table in the Ubu Gallery space (at the old Fyansford Paper Mills) we knew exactly what we wanted to do. Obviously, we were going to fill it with food!

Having always loved being in charge of the food and whipping up platters for friends in the past, this was like the ultimate challenge (and delight!)

Fifi's brief was pretty simple: 'Colour. Lots of pops of colour’. On the night, the table was set with bunches of blooms, painted ceramics, silverware, timber blocks and what we’d now call a grazing platter!

Post-party, the feedback on the table was amazing. It seeded thoughts of 'Hey, maybe someone else may want to do this for their party?'. Within 48hrs the business name was registered, the website and social handles were set-up and that was that - Geelong's original Grazing & Platter business, Platter Co.

Fast forward to now, with the incredible support from other friends and local businesses, the future is CHEESE.
